Scuba Diving with Pascal Van Craenenbroek - Rates & Booking

An experienced dive instructor with BlueWater Divers is leading twice-daily dive charter trips from Key Largo starting Friday, July 17. These aren't crowded group dives - you'll be on a comfortable boat with up to 6 divers, giving you personalized attention and a quality experience. Each trip lasts 3 to 4 hours depending on which dive sites you explore that day.

Certified divers pay $100 per person (bring your c-card for verification), while snorkelers are welcome at $95. All tanks and weights are included, so you're only bringing yourself and your enthusiasm. You'll pay just 25% upfront to secure your spot, with the remainder due after your dives are complete. The boat provides dock-side rinse stations for your gear, onboard camera tanks, snacks, fresh water, free parking, restrooms, and on-site showers - everything you need for a seamless day on the water.

To book your dive charter, select your preferred date and you'll see options for gear rental and additional guide services. Call ahead if you want specifics about dive locations - your group's certification levels and current conditions determine whether you'll hit two reefs, a wreck and reef combination, or two wrecks.

Highlights of This Dive Charter Experience

Key Largo sits right at the gateway to some of Florida's most iconic underwater destinations. The reefs here are vibrant and teeming with marine life, while the wrecks tell stories of maritime history. Your guide knows these waters inside and out, which means you're exploring with someone who understands currents, wildlife patterns, and the best times to visit each site.

What makes this charter stand out is the balance of structure and flexibility. You're not just shown around - you're guided through a personalized experience that matches your skill level and interests. Small group size means you'll actually get one-on-one attention if you need it, plus plenty of deck space to organize gear and relax between dives without feeling crowded.

On the Water Experience

Diving the Key Largo reefs and wrecks is about immersion in a living underwater landscape. The water clarity shifts with seasons and recent weather, but on good days you'll see 60+ feet - enough to really appreciate the scale of the shipwrecks and the structure of the coral formations. The reefs themselves are gardens of color: brain corals the size of cars, branching corals swaying gently, and smaller formations creating rooms and corridors to explore.

The wreck dives are different - you're navigating through history. These aren't dangerous penetrations for beginners, but enough structure and interesting angles to keep experienced divers engaged. Schools of fish move through the wrecks, and sometimes larger pelagic species cruise by. The experience changes based on the season and time of day, but that's part of what keeps divers coming back.

The boat ride out typically takes 20-30 minutes depending on which site you're hitting. Being on the water, watching the Keys recede and the open water deepen, sets the mood. Your instructor uses this time to brief everyone on what you'll see, current conditions, and any special considerations for that day's sites. By the time you enter the water, you know what to expect and you're focused and ready.

Between dives there's time to decompress - literally and mentally. You'll have fresh water and snacks available, space to sit and process what you just saw, and a chance to talk with other divers about their experience. These moments matter as much as the underwater time.

Plan Your Dive Day

Start your morning by arriving early to meet your instructor and get oriented with the boat. You'll go over gear setup, answer any last-minute questions, and get a weather and site briefing. The twice-daily trips mean you can choose morning or afternoon depending on your schedule - each has its advantages in terms of light, water conditions, and who else is diving that day.

Bring minimal gear yourself: just your swimsuit, towel, and any personal items. Everything else - tanks, weights, most rental gear - is covered. Allow extra time if you're renting equipment; your instructor will walk you through fit and function. The whole experience from arrival to final rinse-down takes about 4-5 hours accounting for prep, two dives, surface interval, and cleanup.

The boat accommodates up to 6 divers comfortably with dedicated deck space for everyone's gear. You won't feel rushed or cramped. Restrooms and showers are on-site, so you can clean up properly after your dives before heading back into town if you want to grab food or explore Key Largo.
