For those seeking a more exclusive experience, we also offer private charters.

Highlights of Your Key Largo Dive Charter

The real strength of these trips is their flexibility and local knowledge. Depending on your group's certification levels and current ocean conditions, you'll explore either two beautiful reefs, a combination of wreck and reef, or two wrecks. The locations shift based on what works best that day, so no two trips feel identical. Our instructor knows these waters intimately and positions the boat where conditions and your skill level align perfectly.

What makes Key Largo special is the variety within a short boat ride. You might spend your first dive moving through formations covered in sea fans and colorful corals, watching fish schools shift in the current. Your second site could take you deeper into a historic wreck where light filters through portholes and nature has reclaimed the structure. Snorkelers get their own meaningful experience in shallower areas where they can observe coral gardens and reef life without needing deep certifications.

On the Water Experience

The underwater environment around Key Largo showcases everything that draws people to Florida Keys diving. The reefs here host vibrant coral formations - from branching elkhorns to massive brain corals - surrounded by a constant flow of tropical fish species. Sea fans wave in the current, creating texture and movement. The water clarity varies with conditions and season, but when it's good, you can see 60 to 80 feet, which opens up the reef structure completely.

Wreck diving adds a different dimension. The historic shipwrecks off Key Largo tell stories through their deteriorating structures. Metal frameworks, scattered debris, and the way marine life colonizes the wreck create an almost archaelogical experience. Fish use the wreck's nooks and crannies as shelter, so you often encounter species you might not see on the open reef.

The boat itself provides plenty of deck space to organize your gear between dives. There's room to move around, sit comfortably, and watch the water while the crew handles positioning. The snacks and fresh water keep your energy up, especially important on days with two dives back-to-back. By the end of the 3-4 hour trip, you've had a solid underwater experience without feeling rushed.

Plan Your Dive Day

Arrive early enough to get your gear sorted and meet your instructor. You'll brief on dive sites, conditions, and any location-specific details. The boat departs for your first site, typically a 15-30 minute run depending on which reef or wreck you're visiting. After your first dive and a surface interval with snacks and water, you'll head to your second location. The whole experience, including boat time, typically fills a full 3-4 hour window.

Bring your certification card, a towel, and sunscreen. We provide tanks, weights, and rinse stations, so you don't need to worry about leaving your gear wet in your car. The on-site showers let you rinse off immediately after, which is especially nice if you're driving home in the afternoon heat. Free parking means no additional hassles - you can focus entirely on the diving.
