Ready to join the underwater world? This two-day PADI Open Water certification course with BlueWater Divers gets you certified and confident to dive anywhere on the planet. We've bundled it with Nitrox specialty training so you'll have extended bottom times right from the start. At $850, you're getting everything - eLearning materials, all rental gear, four open water training dives, snacks, water, and both certifications. Our PADI instructors have taught hundreds of new divers, and we keep class sizes small with just one student per session for personalized attention. By Sunday evening, you'll have your C-card in hand and the skills to explore coral reefs, wrecks, and dive sites worldwide.
This isn't your typical crowded certification mill. We run intimate sessions with dedicated one-on-one instruction, so you'll actually learn proper buoyancy control and feel comfortable underwater before we hand you that certification card. Day one starts with a thorough briefing covering safety protocols, hand signals, and emergency procedures. You'll meet Jules - our resident dive master who's been teaching for over a decade and has stories that'll keep you entertained between dives. Your first two training dives focus on basic skills: clearing your mask, recovering your regulator, and getting neutrally buoyant. Day two is where the magic happens - dives three and four let you practice navigation, safety stops, and really start feeling like a diver. The Nitrox portion covers gas theory and dive planning so you can stay down longer on those deeper reef dives. Most students are surprised how natural it feels by the final dive.
Before you even get in the water, you'll need to knock out the PADI eLearning modules and paperwork from home. The swim test sounds scary but it's just a 200-meter swim and 10-minute float - nothing crazy, just proving you're comfortable in water. We provide everything gear-wise: wetsuit, BCD, regulator, mask, fins, weights, tank, the works. Our rental equipment gets serviced regularly and we carry multiple sizes so you'll get a proper fit. The training dives happen in open water where you'll practice skills in real conditions rather than a confined pool. We start shallow around 20 feet and work down to 30 feet as your comfort level increases. Between dives, we'll go over what went well and what needs work. The Nitrox training includes analyzer use and dive computer programming - skills you'll use on every enriched air dive afterward. One heads up: deposits are non-refundable, but they're good for a full year if your plans change.
Even during training dives, you'll encounter the local underwater residents that make diving addictive. Angelfish are constant companions on most reef dives, with their bright yellow bodies and elegant fins making them perfect photo subjects for new divers. These curious fish often approach within arm's reach, especially the larger gray angelfish that can reach dinner plate size. They're most active during morning dives when they're feeding on sponges and algae. Parrotfish are the cleanup crew you'll hear before you see them - that crunching sound is them scraping algae off coral with their beak-like mouths. The stoplight parrotfish changes colors as it matures, so you might see the same species in completely different color phases on a single dive. They're active all day but tend to be less skittish during afternoon training sessions. Green sea turtles steal the show when they appear, gliding effortlessly through the water column with ancient grace. These gentle giants can live over 80 years and return to the same feeding grounds repeatedly. Turtle encounters happen year-round, but they're more common during warmer months when sea grass is most abundant. New divers always get excited seeing their first turtle, and with proper Nitrox training, you'll have the bottom time to observe their feeding behavior without rushing to the surface.
Getting certified opens up dive sites across the globe, but having Nitrox training from day one puts you ahead of most new divers. You'll be able to join longer boat dives, explore deeper wrecks, and make the most of dive vacations without needing additional training. The skills you learn in these four training dives become the foundation for advanced specialties like deep diving, wreck diving, and underwater photography. Most of our students book their first fun dive within weeks of certification - there's something addictive about breathing underwater and exploring a completely different world. BlueWater Divers offers regular dive trips for certified divers, so you'll have local opportunities to practice your new skills and meet other divers. Don't wait until vacation season to start your diving journey. Book this PADI Open Water and Nitrox bundle now and join the ranks of certified divers who get to experience what most people only see on nature documentaries.
